Principal’s Message:

All of the anticipation, preparation, and planning comes together today as we welcome students back to campus for the 2026-27 school year!

It will be one of the fullest and most exciting days of the year. We'll begin with Senior Sunrise at 6AM, followed by our First-Day Rally at 8:30AM, where we'll celebrate the start of a new year together. From there, students will head to their classes to meet their teachers and classmates, begin building new relationships, and learn more about the Character Pillars and school culture that make Del Oro such a special place.

After a short break in the afternoon, we'll wrap up the day with another tradition as students return for the First Dance of the Year at 8PM.

Students, don't miss the opportunity to jump right in. Introduce yourself to someone new, get involved, and make the most of every opportunity this year has to offer. It all starts today.

Parents, hold on... it's going to be a great year!

Frosh Orientation

More than 400 9th graders and nearly 100 upperclass student leaders filled the campus on Wednesday for Frosh Orientation. It was exciting to watch new friendships begin, conversations spark, and students start feeling like they belong at Del Oro.

A huge thank you goes to our Link Crew leaders and staff who invested so much time and energy into making the day welcoming, fun, and meaningful for our newest Golden Eagles.

If you're the parent of a 9th grader, ask them about who they met, what their team theme was, and why Mr. Agee ripped up a $1 bill.

Traffic Time

With school back in session, the days of cruising down Taylor Road without thinking about traffic are officially behind us. Mornings and afternoons around Del Oro can get pretty busy, but there are several simple ways to make your drop-off or pick-up much quicker.

We've put together a few tips that can help. Some involve choosing a different drop-off location, some involve adjusting your arrival time by just a few minutes, and others explain the best route through our parking lot to keep cars moving and get everyone where they need to go safely.

Take a few minutes to look through this presentation, then watch the video featuring our assistant principals. We filmed it about three years ago, but the advice still stands. They even share a few ideas about what you could do with the extra time you save each week by not sitting in traffic.

Please remember there are brand new drivers on our campus every day. Thank you for helping us keep traffic moving safely and efficiently.
